La montagna raffigurata in questa immagine su di una diapositiva per lanterna, la quale costituisce un vecchio metodo di mostrare fotografie o altre immagini, è nota in inglese come “Adam’s Peak”, o “Picco d’Adamo”. E’ una montagna molto famosa per la “Sri Pada”, od “Orma Sacra”, una formazione rocciosa misurante un metro e ottanta centimetri che si trova in prossimità della sua cima. Gli aderenti di alcune religioni credono che questa sia l’impronta del piede di una figura religiosa come Budda, Siva, o Adamo.
