I instantly recognized this type of butterfly when I saw it on the screen, as i used to catch them with my net all the time on animal crossing growing up!

Hello,
I think that this exhibited object is closely related to a famous butterfly garden in South America, located in Colombia.
I have translated a fragment of the official website of this place (which is originally in Spanish):
“The most beautiful butterfly garden in the world:
The department of Quindío, located in the central Andes of Colombia, is an area of high biological diversity due to the fact that its soils are formed by volcanic ashes, and it has a rainfall of more than 2,200 mm. As a fun fact, its forests date back to the Tertiary period. […] This generated a high number of species of flora, fauna, bacteria, fungi, and microorganisms.
Quindío is an exceptional place for the contemplation of nature. That was the reason for building a butterfly garden, to highlight the close relationship between plants and these marvellous insects. The idea of building the Butterfly Garden of Quindío was expressed by the founder of the garden, Alberto Gómez Mejía, in 1991 in London to the famous English conservationist Miriam Rothschild, who gave him the first indications for its successful realisation”.
