Cette minuscule théière ornée d’un motif floral est considérée comme un jouet, fabriqué par ou pour un enfant. Elle provient de la région d’Ankole, en Ouganda, où vit le peuple Nkole. Pour les filles Nkole, fabriquer de petits pots en argile comme celui-ci, puis des pots à lait en argile avec leurs couvercles, est un rite de passage à mesure qu’elles grandissent, particulièrement important en raison de la longue association de ce pays avec les célèbres bovins Ankole, dont les cornes peuvent atteindre 1,8 m de long.
